Areas of Specialization: Young Adults in Transition; Trauma; EMDR
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been assisting individuals on their journey toward growth and wholeness for the past nine years. I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Vanguard University and I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults in their struggles with identity, depression, anxiety, life transitions, family/relationship issues, trauma and through the process of grief and loss. Keeping each individual’s personal journey and background in mind, I use an integrative approach and implement a variety of techniques such as talk therapy, mindfulness and expression through art.
I’m also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences; the mind can heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.
I understand the amount of pain and frustration that can build before deciding to take the first step to enter into therapy. I would love to help you take that first step and begin working with you toward creating a more healthy and satisfying life. From my own experience in psychotherapy to the work I’ve done with patients, I have witnessed the healing and interpersonal peace that the therapeutic process offers. I believe the best and most beautiful parts of us can usually be found through the openings of the wounds we bear. Let’s work together to find those parts!
